We were dwarfed by the massive pillars of the Federal Courthouse.
United for Peace and Justice filed a federal lawsuit Wednesday morning against the City of New York over its refusal to issue them a march permit for February 15. They had requested a permit to assemble near the United Nations, march past the UN, and then march through Manhattan to a rally location near Central Park. The City countered by saying that they could have a "stationary event" but not a march. AP story
I went to the rally in support of the suit at the Federal Courthouse in Manhattan.
"The true administration of justice is the firmest pillar
of good government".
"What do we want? Permit! When do we want it? Now!"
We also had cold soggy feet.
The crew from NY1 was the only major media I saw there.
